In Malaysia, there have been many cases of business expansion and M&A in the manufacturing industry in search of Malaysia’s relatively inexpensive labour, stable infrastructure and supply chains. With increase of GDP, minimum wage, as well as purchasing power in Malaysia, the number of retail and other service businesses are entering the Malaysian market in recent years, as they see the potential of the Malaysian market.
In 2024, we expect more active M&A activities in the financial sector (including insurance), food and other wholesale trade, restaurant chains, logistics, and construction.
