The CEO is a qualified Japanese lawyer with extensive work experience at Japanese major law firm, also seconded to a Japanese financial institution in Malaysia and a major law firm in Malaysia.

We work with several law firms in Malaysia where we will coordinate and liaise the communication between clients and local law firms. The local law firms will be the ones providing the legal services.

  • Researching legal issues related to licenses and preparing legal opinions​
  • Litigation and dispute matters such as debt collection and claims for damages​
  • HR and labor matters such as disciplinary dismissals and restructuring layoffs​

  • Compliance-related services (providing whistleblower protection services)​
  • Company liquidation, liquidation-type business transfers, and support for withdrawal from Malaysia​

Patrick has more than 21 years of experience in Karaoke Industry. He is also developing new businesses and joint ventures in Malaysia and across the globe. Being one of the pioneer and a veteran karaoke business owner, he also has strong connections with the media & entertainment business industry. ​

He has extensive knowledge of developing and managing the implementation of franchise business models in Malaysia and overseas. He is an entrepreneur experience in develop multi F&B brand in few countries like Malaysia, Singapore, Australia and China. In 2004, he started his first family karaoke – KBOX in Ipoh. Since its inception, K BOX Karaoke has become a market leader in the region. It is also the oldest local Family Karaoke brand in Malaysia. ​

From 2018 onward, he achieved yet another milestone and appointed as Partner and Director for Koshidaka Malaysia (a subsidiary of Koshidaka Holdings in Japan) by expanding Japan’s biggest brand and world largest karaoke chain – Karaoke Manekineko, in Malaysia and Singapore. From 2020 July, he have been appointed as the President of Malaysia Family Karaoke Association to represent the industry in Malaysia.​

Graduated with First-Class Honours in Finance from the University of Central Lancashire (UK) and SEGi University (Malaysia). He has professional experience in financial management and M&A across multiple countries, including the United Kingdom, Australia, and Malaysia. Began his career in Citibank’s Risk division, followed by a role at a boutique investment bank in London, UK (now part of Stifel), where he was involved in M&A transactions in the TMT sector. He also gained exposure through the investment arm of a technology firm.

He joined LIKEARISINGSUN in 2023 and is currently involved in cross-border deal origination, due diligence, and valuation. Holds a Master’s degree in Finance from the University of Sydney and has also contributed to strategic projects with Big 4 consulting firms and Australian investment funds focused on disruptive and high-growth companies.
